Read these first
Know these first, and joining or changing modes gets much smoother.
Check what the room is running
Campaign and Survival are closer to vanilla. Anne modes are custom-tuned co-op, while Versus depends on player count and ruleset. Glance at the server name and current mode before stepping into a high-pressure room.
Do not rush the difficulty at first
On your first visit, start with Campaign and learn routes, supplies, revives, and a few chat commands. Hardcore Anne or Versus practice can sweep you along before you even know what happened.
Say something before changing things
Map changes, mode changes, and boss progress affect everyone in the room. Ask once before using !vote, !match, or !rmatch and you avoid a lot of confusion.
Remember !web and !ip
Server addresses, mode notes, plugin entries, and troubleshooting notes live on the website. When the in-game browser acts up, !web or !ip opens the lite pages and is usually steadier.
How to get in
From finding a server to joining a team, this order works.
Copy connect first
Copy the connect address from the lite homepage or IP page and paste it into the console. If the room is full, do not force it; !ip shows sibling servers after you join.
Do not rush the room tempo
Read chat prompts, scoreboard, and current mode first. Use !join for survivors, !away when stepping aside, and !inf only in rooms that allow infected.
Open a menu when unsure
!vote has most room actions. Use !match for modes, !mapvote for custom maps, and !xx or !x to see the current Anne config.
Do not just reconnect over and over
Loading stalls, missing custom maps, Too many indices, Client timed out, crashes, and Tickrate issues often need a real cause before a fix.
Common tools
These commands are handy no matter what mode you play.
Common tools
These are not mode-specific; you may use them in any room.
Website and lite pages
!web opens the website entry, and !ip opens the server list. The in-game browser is old, so lite pages are usually more reliable.
Teams and spectator
!join joins survivors, !away / !spec moves to spectator, and !inf joins infected in allowed Versus or practice modes. Do not idle in a survivor slot for long.
Stats and HUD
!rank and !top10 show scores and rankings; !spechudon and !tankhud show spectator and boss info. Scores are fine to check, but do not break team tempo chasing them.
Chat and blocking
!qf sends global chat, !zd looks for teammates, and !block / !unblock manages player blocking.
Supplies and cosmetics
!rpg / !buy opens shop or supply menus. !hat, !ch, !setch, and !dance handle hats, titles, and emotes.
Anne-family features
Anne modes are not just a few extra specials. The point is health, supplies, boss progress, and moving as a team.
Dynamic AI
The worse the team state gets, the more pressure tends to climb. Incaps, black-and-white health, low HP, and getting stuck for too long all make the next stretch harder.
Tank / Witch progress
!tank checks boss progress. !voteboss can vote to adjust it in Anne modes. Check progress before finales or custom-map events.
Supplies and economy
Supplies in Anne modes are not unlimited. If movement and focus fire can solve a situation, avoid spending meds and throws too early.
Map tempo
Official maps follow the route. Custom maps need extra attention to events, finales, and supply points. Follow the team if the map is unfamiliar.
Votes and menus
Map changes, mode changes, and boss progress live here.
How to use !vote !vote
The general vote entry, often used for server menus, common configs, player slots, and room-level actions. New players should look here first.
- Confirm with the team before starting a vote.
- Votes affect the whole room, so do not spam menus.
!match mode switching !match / !chmatch
Used to pick cfgogl rulesets and gameplay configs. Campaign, Anne, and Versus practice usually start here. If a match is already loaded, use !rmatch first.
- For Anne starts, pick AnneHappy first, then move to Hardcore or variants as the team gets comfortable.
- For Versus, choose 1v1/2v2/3v3 by player count, then pick ZoneMod, NextMod, EQ, AMR, or another ruleset.
Use !xx to check the current mode !xx / !x
Shows the current Anne mode, special-spawn config, limits, and tips. In an unfamiliar Anne room, check this before asking what mode it is.
- If the page and chat prompts disagree, trust the match currently loaded on the server and admin announcements.
Custom maps and boss votes !mapvote / !tank / !voteboss
!mapvote changes or votes custom maps, !tank checks boss progress, and !voteboss adjusts Anne boss progress. Discuss custom-map events, finales, and long maps first.
- Missing custom map files can stall loading or disconnect you. Confirm the map is subscribed or installed locally.
- Changing boss progress before a finale can suddenly unbalance difficulty.

- Anne modes revolve around dynamic AI, boss progress, and team tempo; low health slows the run sharply.
- For Versus, choose 1v1/2v2/3v3 by player count, then pick ZoneMod, NextMod, EQ, AMR, or another ruleset.
- Typing !xxx or /xxx in chat usually triggers the same SourceMod command.
- When changing modes, use !rmatch to unload the current config, then choose a new mode with !match or !vote.
